This School Counseling Week, we recognize the vital role school counselors play in supporting students’ academic achievement, social-emotional development, and postsecondary planning. Their work—counseling, coordination, and advocacy—drives student success and strengthens our school communities.

This month, we celebrate the rich history, achievements, and living legacies of Black leaders, students, staff, and community members across our district. From classroom projects and student spotlights to community events and resource shares, we’re committed to learning, listening, and honoring voices that shaped our past and are shaping our future.

🤖Mr. Etheridge is teaching the students about coding this month. Just as humans learn to follow directions such as brushing their teeth, cooking, and where to go when they walk into school, robots, machines, and computers follow directions too. It's called CODING.🤖

Happy Principal and Assistant Principal's Week to the heart of our school! 🎉 Today, we celebrate Mr. Horne's and Mrs. McCullough's incredible leadership, vision, and dedication to creating a positive, supportive environment for every student and staff member. 🎄🎵The CSPS Cubs were treated to a nice, festive concert this morning by the HHMS Band and Choir. 🎵🎄

Ms. Yacklon and Ms. V’s class enjoyed having Mr. E visit and read a Christmas book.

Mrs. Taylor's class celebrated a huge accomplishment last week for all of the DEAR Golden Tickets they have earned for reading in the gym each morning. Way to go Cubs!

The Jamestown -Yorktown Foundation visited the Kindergarten classes to share a presentation about the Powhatan Indians.

🎅Reminder: The Stew with Santa will take place this evening at CSPS from 5:00-7:30. Verndors for tonight are Stuff'd Pals, KK & B Beaded Creations, Kreations, Creative Custom Crochet, Patrick James & Co., Simply Delicious, P31 Boutique, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Link'd by Ken, Scentsy, and Bella Vida Studio. The Candy Cane Lane Shoppe will also be open tonight for parents, staff, and students to shop. We can't wait to see you there!

We have had to reschedule Stew with Santa once again! We will now have it on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10th, from 5:00-7:30. We will distribute stews that have not already been picked up. If we have school tomorrow, and you would like to make arrangements to pick up, contact the office.

We will extend the online Silent Auction until 3:00 PM on Wednesday. Everything else will go as planned.
